Interior/Exterior Relationships

The major design qualities that I wanted this design to embody was to be able to open up spaces and try to merge the interior with the exterior. The motive of this design was to be natural, thinking of materials such as timber for a lot of the building, and lots of glass to open up the spaces, being able to see most of the exterior from the interior, and vice verse.

There is a desire for this design to be able to correlate the manmade with the natural, the building with the landscape. Inspiration from Aalto's Villa Mairea had been taken to be able to make these connections. The idea of extensive use of natural lighting had also been considered for most of the internal spaces such as classrooms.
